Fun Mom

I admit that I am not always the best at playing with Benjamin. Even though I taught preschool, I'm afraid a lot of what we do in the day isn't very fun. We do play together, but usually just for a few minutes a day. The other times, I am trying to get other things done around the house. Things were really crazy over the summer with school work and moving, and I am afraid that I wasn't very available. On Monday, we had a very rainy day and Benjamin asked me to get out the Megablocks to play. He suggested that we build a zoo. We had the best time constructing and made quite the structure. It was then decided that "arf arf," Benjamin's favorite stuffed animal dog, needed a house. After it was complete, Benjamin decided that it was big enough that he could get in also. It was amazing how fast the morning flew by with all our exciting adventures. I throughly enjoyed myself and the chores got done just a little later in the day. Monday's adventures got me in the mood for doing other things together and actually planning activities. Tuesday morning, we went to a big park nearby and ran around playing Abiyoyo, a book by Pete Seeger about a giant who comes and a boy plays his ukulele to make him dance until he falls down and the father "zoops" him away with his magic wand. I, of course, was Abiyoyo and Benjamin played and sang so that I danced until he "zooped" me away, meaning that I had to run and hide under the slide. Laughing wildly and running, we played and played together. It was great fun. Today's activity will be collecting fall leaves and making a collage with contact paper. Hopefully fun mom can visit much more often!
