Emma's Coat

I love this little coat that I picked up for a steal last year at Children's Place. I had to get some pictures of her in it this morning before church.

The Butterflies Have Emerged!

It all started on Friday mid-morning when Benjamin noticed that a butterfly had emerged. By Saturday all five had come out. We are enjoying watching them although we are a little concerned that they might not be getting enough food. We have an orange and keep adding sugar water to it to keep them fed. We will be releasing them this week. Benjamin has made quite an observational drawing of one of the butterflies and the orange. I might suspect a bug project headed our way this summer if I can keep my energy up!

Butterflies

Santa brought us a butterfly house, and we finally sent away for the caterpillars. They arrived and ate and ate until they were huge. They finally formed their chrysalides, and we are anxiously awaiting the painted lady butterflies to emerge.

The Zoo

Emma has been very into animals and their sounds lately and is especially drawn to our books about animals. So after the primary activity, we headed for the zoo. It was a beautiful day and just plain perfect weather. The highlight for Emma was seeing all the monkeys and for Benjamin feeding the birds. It was perfect afternoon!

Preschool Bike Day

Benjamin had bike day at school for his last day before the field trip and end of year picnic. He got to wash his bike and decorate it. His teacher said that it was the most decorated bike in the class.

First School Bus Ride

Benjamin's preschool took a tour of a school bus today and went out for a ride. He also learned many safety rules about riding the bus like. . . .
  • "You may not walk past the big yellow stick on the bus.
  • You may not get up or stand on any of the seats.
  • You may not go behind the bus or run over to get something.
  • You may not eat food on the bus.
  • You have to hold onto the railing.
  • You have to stand back from the bus when lining up."
Benjamin also earned an bus award, got an activity booklet, and got a cupcake snack from the bus barn. I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself and now believes he is ready to be a bus rider to kindergarten!
