A Commotion in the Ocean

We went to Benjamin's Kindergarten play today of "Go Fish." Benjamin's class were the clown fish, and they sang "A Commotion in the Ocean." He had a part to say in the middle of the song. He was the character Bo. Here are the lines.
Zo: Hey Bo.
Bo: Yeah Zo.
Zo: Have you heard what sits at the bottom of the sea and shakes?
Bo: No what sits at the bottom of the sea and shakes?
Zo: A nervous wreck
Ha! Ha! Ha!

After more singing . . .
Zo: Hey Bo.
Bo: Yeah Zo.
Zo: Do you know where fish keep their money?
Bo: I don't know where do fish keep their money?
Zo: In the river bank.
Ha! Ha! Ha!

These two enjoyed the show as well!

We checked him out of school early, headed to his choice of lunch which was McDonalds and took it to the park to have a picnic. It was a great day!

12 for the 14th

I completely forgot that it was the 12th so I did the 14th instead. In fact we went to the zoo again (a different zoo though) so many of the pictures are similar to last month. I did make a rare cooked breakfast (homemade blueberry muffins) for our morning, and we enjoyed treats after dinner (peep for Emma and a cookie for Benjamin). You will notice Emma in different clothes; we are in the throes of potty training!

Our Garden

Last year we made our first square foot garden. We planted sixteen things most from seeds and four tomato plants. The garden was a total bust. The seedlings were eaten by rabbits, and we only got two small tomatoes. We joked that those were some expensive tomatoes! The problem was that we tried the garden in the side yard where there wasn't enough sun.

This year our Bishop (ecclesiastical leader at church) has asked us to become more self reliant and has challenged each ward member to grow something even if it is just one pot of herbs. We are taking his challenge and have started anew on our gardening project. We moved our square food garden box to a sunnier part of the yard and made a planter for the tomato plants since they took over the entire box last year. Here are our beginnings. There will be more pictures when we plant the square foot garden. So far we have planted three tomato plants and a bean plant that Benjamin grew at school. We have a pumpkin plant to put in the far corner from our trip to the spring fair. Here are the pictures.Benjamin's bean plant he grew at school.
