Ward Campout

We headed to the mountains for the ward campout.  We rented a family cabin at the Church owned camp instead of opting to tent camp because of our last experience.  It was described as luxurious with a kitchenette and everything.  When we got there and saw our accommodations it was a different story.   The kitchenette turned out to be a microwave on top of a plywood shelf topped with laminate flooring nailed to it.  The cabin part was just plywood everywhere, and I neglected to take a picture of it.  I was a bit worried about rodents because those who know me well know that I am very afraid but thank heavens none were spotted.  There was too little sleep, as always with camping, but we had a great time.  We enjoyed the campfire, the pancake breakfast, a horse back ride for Benjamin and Emma, and lastly the rock climbing wall.  So much fun!

It's a . . .

We had the kids open a package to reveal the new baby's gender.  They were pretty excited!

Out popped a pink balloon and cupcakes.  IT'S A GIRL!  Everyone had the right guess this time.  Benjamin was so hoping to complete the pattern of boy, girl, boy, girl.  I guess that he got his wish!

Tooth Fairy Pillows

I had a tooth fairy pillow that I received as a baby gift.  I absolutely loved it.  I found it a few years ago at my parents house and am now just as fond of it as I was back then.  Last night Benjamin lost his other front tooth making four lost in total.  I was sick that he still didn't have a pillow to put it in.  He did use his little tooth holder for the night, but I decided that it was time to finish those pillows.  My sister Elizabeth made the quilts when she was here, and I got enough courage to just go for it and finish them.  I got the idea to make them like this from this one I found online.  I am in love!  They look homemade because I can see every imperfection, but I hope one day my children will know that they were homemade with love.  Now I just have to do one more when we find out the gender of the baby!

Great Wolf Lodge

Ever since we went to Great Wolf Lodge in December the kids have been dying to go back again.  I caught the May sale, and we got a the largest suite so that Andrew, Kelly, and Logan could join us.  We had a great time.  I neglected to take many pictures but with chasing Jacob these days there isn't a lot of opportunity to have my hands free (seems like there have been a lot less pictures in general these days).  We had so much fun splashing in the waterpark, playing Magiquest where Benjamin defeated the dragon that scared Jacob motionless, getting our nails painted pink (Emma saw a brochure for the Scoops spa but because of the cost we did our own manicure and pedicures), eating pizza, enjoying the bed time show, consuming too many treats from the bakery, and swimming again the next day before heading home.  Everyone was thoroughly exhausted by the time we reached our house!
