At the 20 week ultrasound there was a slight white spot on the heart. So we were scheduled to have a follow up ultrasound at 28 weeks to check to make sure everything was okay. It is still a baby girl and the spot on the heart looks to be disappearing. She was all over the place during the ultrasound and loved to have her hands by her face. We were lucky enough to get this picture of her without her hands covering her face.

Swimming
The kids ended their second swimming session of the summer. Both of them have improved so much. Emma is now putting her head in and trying to swim, and Benjamin is swimming in the deep end unaccompanied and also turning his head to side breathe for the crawl stroke. They are both asking when it starts again. We'll have to see when we that will be.

Scrapbooking
I can't believe I am about to say this but I am only 5 months behind on scrapbooking. I have been working like crazy during naptimes to try and get things done. My initial motivation was to get Jacob's baby book done before the new baby arrived so that meant that I needed to scrapbook through his first birthday. I just didn't want two baby books lingering over my head. I was on about March 2011 when I started. Then once I got his baby book done, I just kept on going. A few days ago I officially finished 2011 and printed them all out. It felt like the biggest sense of accomplishment to officially get the working copy off of my desk and present it to its new home on the bookshelves downstairs. Then just this morning I finished February 2012. Stephen asked me what it would be like to be all caught up. I am not sure how I will feel, but I do want to try and find out. I have never been caught up ever. The closest I came was right before Jacob was born, and I got to only 8 months behind when he was born. Here's to the great feeling of being all caught up before the baby arrives!

Seattle
I had a doctor's appointment in Seattle and convinced Stephen to take the afternoon off of work so that we could all go up. There is a new ferris wheel that I thought would be fun to take the kids too. Benjamin was freaked out and had to be throughly convinced to get on. When we were finally on, he had a fun time. Jacob was wild as usual and didn't want to sit at all. The views were amazing and it was really breathtaking.
After our ride we headed off to find some dinner. Stephen found a Vietnamese restaurant on Yelp that got excellent reviews. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. In fact both Stephen and I thought that it beat our favorite Vietnamese place in Salt Lake that we both crave. The kids ate chicken satay with rice, and we enjoyed fresh springrolls and a pork and eggroll 'bun' salad. Just looking at the picture makes my mouth water all over again. It was so, so, so delicious. Our one event was that without a nap Jacob was extra crazy and tried to pull the tablecloth off of the table, but luckily Stephen had quick hands and stopped him before all the dishes took a tumble. We ended the evening with a trip down Pike's but hit a slight snag with breaking off a back wheel from the double stroller. So we quickly headed to our favorite bakery for pastries all the while Stephen having to lift the back end of the stroller up and made a break for the car. It was a great afternoon and evening!

Saturday Shopping Spree and a Fish Tale
We split into two groups and headed off for major shopping sprees. I had the easy end of the deal and took Benjamin and Emma Back-to-School shopping. Both of them needed new shoes and Benjamin needed school supplies. We headed to Target to get what was needed, then to Payless for Benjamin's shoes where he got shoes that tie, and finally finished our adventure at Wendy's where we even got Frostys to celebrate. Here are the pictures of spoils.
Then Stephen headed to Winco to restock our pantry and long term food storage. I usually do this about once every six months but it had been over a year. Supplies were really low. These two had the hard job as Stephen filled an entire cart, checked out, loaded the car and then repeat the entire process again! That is right two entire cart load of pantry staples and canned food. There were some casualities in that Jacob dropped a bottle steak sauce on the floor and all over Stephen's shoe and also the entire dozen eggs in the parking lot as Stephen was loading the car. It was a super shopping spree to say the least, and I don't know if it will ever be repeated with Jacob in tow again!
In the late afternoon Stephen heard from some friends that the local sports wholesale store had a fishing ponds. He had Benjamin headed over to catch a fish while the little kiddos napped. Benjamin has been asking us for months for a fishing pole and to go fishing so this was just a perfect experience. Only it hasn't been so perfect for us because now he just keeps asking for a pole and when he can go again!
