Friday Family Fun Night

We headed to get some fish and chips and then to the beach to eat them. The only problem was that everyone was too hungry to wait. So we ate in the car and then headed over to the beach. It was a perfect Friday Family fun Night!

August 12 for 12

1. Emma reading in her crib because the new rule is brown doggie has to stay in her crib. She didn't want to leave him so she read in her crib for about 40 minutes or so.
2. Benjamin reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
3. Summer Homework Packet
4. Emma was in a rare mood and cooperated for a picture ~ her favorite phrase as of late "it's not like it" which translates to fix whatever she feels maybe be wrong; things like her sock, the way her pants are on her body, her hairstyle, the strap on her watch, etc.
5. A fort that was built ~ almost a daily occurrence here
6. Jacob loves to dump everything out of the tiny kitchen. He is pretty proud of himself too.
7. Two unfortunate accident clean-ups (one because E wore pull-ups for most of the trip and has had two accidents since we got back and the other was a run in with toilet water ~ yuck!)
8. -10. We went out to eat at our favorite hamburger stand not because I didn't want to cook but because I didn't want to clean-up anything else (see 7 above).
11. Headed to the local park to play because we realized we missed the bookmobile in our neighborhood park.
12. Finally hit the bookmobile (the highlight of my kid's week ~ they love it!)

Berries, Berries, Berries

When we came home we knew there were only a few days left for raspberries and blackberries from our favorite, local berry farm. We headed over and picked up two half flats. The berries were delicious. Our strawberry season was pretty hindered by all the rain this spring/early summer but the raspberries and blackberries were extra juicy and plump because of it. They were amazing. We ate berries for days, froze some for later, and used some to make a scrumptious blackberry cobbler. We love Northwest berries!

Family Reunion: July 29th through August 8th

We flew to Utah, and we there for about ten days. We spent two days before Stephen's family reunion with my sister and her family and my brother and his son (his wife was working). Then we headed to Bear Lake for about a week. Amazingly I took so few pictures. I was just busy with my kids and activities at Bear Lake that I only pulled my camera out to document one Emma tantrum and for the family Nickel auction.

Bear Lake
Sunday ~ FHE
Monday~ Make banks for Nickels, kids played around the house and in the hot tub, Benjamin got sick
Tuesday ~ Emma and Dad go on the boat, Surprise Party for Aunt Liz
Wednesday ~ jet ski ( Dad dumped Benjamin, Grandma and Emma in the water), Play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Thursday ~ Benjamin goes on the boat, Nickel Auction
Friday ~ North Beach for a few hours, Play Juanito Bandito
Saturday ~ check out

As for the other days in Utah, I just pulled it out once to get pictures before we left. Here is a list of some of the other activities that we packed in a few short days: went shopping (Elizabeth and I), played outside together for hours, fell off of the slide, Emma, and got a huge owie on her face, went swimming at the pool, ate Chinese food, watched the kids, and enjoyed seeing Andrew, Logan and Kelly, and spent time in the sun.
