I think that naively I thought the only readers that I have of this little blog are friends and family but after looking at the blogger statistics of where readers are coming from, I know that there are probably some people that I don't know who read this. A little shout out to all of you who may be reading that I don't know. And because there are said readers who don't know me, you may or may not know that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or a Mormon. I talk about my church in many posts, but I have never shared my beliefs about my church. And this evening I just wanted to let whoever may read this insignificant blog know my feelings about why I believe what I do and how I came to know what I know.
I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that He is my Savior and a Savior for the entire world. He has given me the greatest gift of his eternal sacrifice in my behalf, being the redemption from sin and death. I also believe in a loving and eternal Father in Heaven. I know that He hears and answers my prayers. I know that He loves me. I love knowing that. I admit that there are times that I question His love. I may not have felt it so acutely at times, but deep within my heart I know that God loves me. He loves me. He loves all His children no matter what we may have done. He loves us so much that He wants to bring us back to live with him again. Because of this love he has given prophets. I believe in prophets of old in the Bible and because I know that God is just as aware of us as He was those in ancient times, I believe in modern-day prophets. A prophet named Joseph Smith who was born in the year 1820 prayed to know which church was true and was told that none of the churches on earth were true. It was revealed through this prophet to restore Christ's church again to the earth and with that came the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I have read this book and know it to be true. The truth came to me when I prayed to God to know if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. Heavenly Father heard my prayer and answered it in a very personal way, through peace and enlightenment to my mind and spirit. I also know that there is a prophet on the earth today and that he speaks with God and reveals truth for our time now. These are a few of the things that I know to be true and a reason that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
For any readers who would like to find out more about my beliefs feel free to look up the following website. It gives great information about what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe in. mormon.org

Vote for Elizabeth!
My very crafty twin sister (she got all of the crafting genes though) is a finalist for a skirt she made. I hear there may even be a t.v. appearance tomorrow morning so if you get a minute and could vote for her, I'd appreciate it. Will you please vote for "The Bustle Skirt?" Here is the link http://studio5.ksl.com/?sid=10590696&nid=21
Here is the link to her blog if you want to see all her craftiness. She and her sister-in-law have the same name and do the blog together. My sister goes by Liz on the blog. Hope you can vote and get all your friends to vote as well!
