I have an OVEN!
I have never been more excited to spend several hundred dollars to have something repaired! Many thanks to all those that extended invitations for Thanksgiving or told us we could borrow their ovens. We felt so loved for all the concern. The oven is getting ready for all the cooking/baking for the big day!

Thanksgiving Fiasco?
I am wondering if we have a Thanksgiving fiasco in the making. My oven went out a few days ago. It wouldn't heat above 150 degrees. The broiler still works, but that is it. It has been interesting these past few days to rearrange and cook on the stove top or the broiler. It seems like I want to make something right when I don't have an oven, like cookies for example. The repairman came today. Actually I was very impressed with them. There was an older gentleman and he seemed to be training a younger gentleman. They placed mats by the front door, shoe covers to protect my house, and mats to protect the hardwood floor as they slid the oven out. It seems the element in the bottom is burned out. They ordered another one, but it won't be here until next week. We have an appointment scheduled the day before Thanksgiving for the repair to be finished. We just may be eating out for the Holiday if things don't go as planned!

Emma's New Coat
Emma needed a winter coat, and I have been so hesitant about buying a new one. One day when Stephen was up in the attic storage, I asked him to pull out the 18 month clothes of Benjamin. I found his little blue jacket that he wore. I decided that I could reuse it for Emma if I just added something to it. So today the bears were covered up by a large flower. I know that if my sister were here, she could have helped me make it look a lot cuter, but it works for me and for Emma this winter. Here is the coat redo which cost me $4.23 (it would have been around $1.80 if I didn't have to buy a package of buttons instead of just one).

Happy Birthday Stephen!
Stephen had a very low key birthday. I had intended to do more, but sadly it was just one of those days. In spite of that, I hope that he enjoyed it. We went out for Japanese food at a new restaurant that we found. We each ordered a bento box dinner of different items and shared. It was delicious and now the restaurant has taken over our family's top spot for Japanese. We came home to open presents (which Benjamin wrapped completely by himself) and eat some of the castle cake that Benjamin made (which was again frosted all by himself I might add) for Dad. Happy Birthday to the man we all love!
