New Year's Eve

We had a really low key New Year's Eve.  I went to the store and got lots of appetizers.  I bought so many that we decided to have different courses.  We first ate meats, cheese, and crackers at about 3:30p.m. when the little kids were complaining they were hungry and needed a snack.  One fun new thing we did this year was that I bought a bunch of speciality sodas so we had a soda taste test.  It was really entertaining and everyone choose their favorite.  Emma kept saying this tastes just like water . . . delicious.  Then a few hours later we were suppose to cook all the appetizers up, but we ended up still a bit full from our previous feast so we just cooked up some pizza and chicken nuggets for Jacob.  We toasted this course with sparkling cider in fancy glasses.  We got into our pajamas and watched a movie which was supposed to be followed by an indulgent dessert of brownie sundaes with gelato but no room for dessert so that deliciousness will wait until tomorrow.  Happy New Year's Eve!

Grandpa Everton's Funeral

Stephen's grandpa had a stroke earlier in the month and the doctors knew that the end of his life was coming.  He passed away on December 20th.  The funeral arrangements were made for December 29th.  It just so happened that my parents, Nana and Papa, were going to visiting my brother and his family after Christmas which is a few hours away.   So we headed south to his house to drop the oldest three off with them and then flew to Utah for a quick trip, Friday afternoon to early Sunday morning.  I took very few pictures, but we will have great memories of the trip.  We enjoyed being with family and celebrating the life of an inspiring man.

All of the family that attended the luncheon.  There were more at the funeral but some wives and kids went home for naps.
Sarah and Grandma matched perfectly so we had to get some pictures together of them.

Emma's Santa present that she had been asking for for months!
The only picture of Sarah Jane.  She was wrapped in a moby most of the day.

The only picture of Mom which thank heavens is from far away because I woke up with an awful rash on my face from my antibiotic.
