We set out for the Fair right after we dropped Benjamin off on the bus. He was excited to take his first spelling test at school and choose school over the Fair. We knew it opened earlier at 9am this year and got in the gates only to find out that nothing opened inside until 10 except the animal barns. So we went and saw some dogs and cows before heading to Hobby Hall to see the scrapbooking pages. How shocked I was to have won Grand Champion again and maybe a bit disappointed. Now I can't enter next year because I won Grand Champ two years in a row. It is silly, I know, but I love to think about and plan page designs all summer long to enter. Now I'll have to think of some other category to enter in. We were also surprised to find out that the kids had won too. This was their first year entering and each of them did their own page. Benjamin entered in the digital category and did the entire page himself after I showed him how to work the program. Emma needed help running the program but she told me where to put the pictures, what font to use, and what the title should say. Then we bought scrapbook elements and she decorated the page entirely herself. Benjamin won First place in the junior digital category and won a $10 prize which he can't wait to receive in the mail. Emma won third place in the junior elements category. It was a great morning at the Fair!
